Wilfried Zaha was Manchester United’s hero on Friday after netting an injury-time equaliser to conclude a 2-2 draw with Cerezo Osaka in the Yanmar Premier Cup.
The substitute, signed from Crystal Palace last January, pounced to slot home Anderson’s left-wing cross and help David Moyes’ men come from behind for the second time in the match.
In truth, the night was all about returning hero Shinji Kagawa, who enjoyed an eventful evening. Minutes after seeing a second-half penalty saved, the Japanese star produced a smart close-range finish to level the score at 1-1 following good work from Ryan Giggs.
Takumi Minamino’s superb long-range drive put Cerezo back in front until Zaha – who later collected the Man of the Match award – saved United’s blushes with a neat conversion in added-time.
