Sir Alex Ferguson 25 Years Story | League 2000-2001

League 2000/01

The 2000/01 campaign may not have had the drama of seasons gone by, but the Reds were still streets ahead of the rest as they romped to title glory.

In doing so, United recorded a first ever hat-trick of league titles with Sir Alex becoming the first manager to win three in a row.

The turning point came in October after a 1-0 defeat at Arsenal. United bounced back and went on a run of 15 wins from the next 19 games which took them 13 points clear. The Reds then smashed the Gunners 6-1 at home at the end of February.

Party time came on 14 April when United’s 4-2 home win over Coventry, coupled with Arsenal’s 3-0 slump at home to lowly Middlesbrough, sealed the title with five games to spare.

We hope you enjoy re-living all the best moments from the 2000/01 campaign in our free video above.
