Tommy Manley joined United in May 1930 and was so versatile that he played in almost every outfield position during the 1930s. He managed 195 appearances for United and scored 41 goals before moving to Brentford in 1939.
Full-back Jack Griffiths joined Manchester United for £1,600 in March 1934 as United struggled to avoid relegation. He managed 176 appearances and scored 1 goal during his war interrupted career at Old Trafford. A Football League Division Two championship winner in 1935-36 season, he also appeared in an England trial match.
Bill McKay joined Manchester United in March 1934 for £1,000. After helping United avoid relegation he enjoyed a long career at Old Trafford, eventually leaving in the club in 1946 having made 184 appearances and scoring 15 goals.
