Reece Brown is a tall and very powerful central defender, who can also play at full-back and in midfield.
Brown became a mainstay in the Reserves after his elevation from the youth ranks with his rapid development has already led to England youth recognition.
Younger brother of first-team star Wes, Reece has a very similar style of play to his older sibling, and also carries a genuine goal threat – either in taking set-pieces or getting on the end of them.
After representing England at the Under-20 World Cup, he joined Doncaster on a month’s loan where he was primarily as a holding midfielder, a position where he was tried
in the Reserves at the back-end of the 2010/2011 campaign.
Another temporary switch saw him impress at nearby Oldham Athletic and there are strong suggestions that Latics boss Paul Dickov will attempt to sign him on a permanent basis.
As he has been at United since a very young age, it would be a wrench to leave for the versatile defender, who made 10 starts for the Reserves in 2011/2012, but the lure of first-team football may prove difficult to resist.
